Over the past few weeks, I've been waiting patiently for word that the $6,080 "Running 4 Wishes" raised for The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Indiana will benefit a central Indiana child. This week, I received word, "Wish Granted!"
Before introducing this young lady, I want to again thank everyone for your generous donations, your words of encouragment and your prayers. I feel so blessed to have such great friends and family, thank you, thank you, thank you!
Now, without any further delay, it is my priveledge to introduce to everyone Anna Bruce.
Anna BruceAnna is an 11 year old from Fairland, Indiana (Shelby County). Anna lives with her mom (Heather), dad (Ron), and her 2 sisters (Holly - 13 and Ellie - 10). Anna's wish was to go to Walt Disney World and now she is on her way thanks to your donations. In an email from Anna's mother, she wrote: "I can't tell you how much this means to our family. We will be leaving 4 weeks from tomorrow! This will be the first time Anna has been to any amusement/theme park, so we're excited to see what she will think of the rides. In addition, Anna absolutely loves being in water, so we're planning to drive out to the beach for one day while we're down there to let her have her fill of the waves!"
Anna loves listening to music! One of her favorite things to do is read books with her mom and sisters, especially the book Goodnight Moon. She also likes watching “The Barney Show” on television or anything with Elmo! Her all-time favorite candies are Snickers and M&M’s.
When Anna was seven months old, she was diagnosed with IsoDicentric 15, a chromosome abnormality. This means Anna is very prone to seizures and is confined to a wheelchair a majority of her day. The disease also causes Anna to have language and motor skill delays.
In March, Anna and her family will travel to the Walt Disney World® Resorts! While in Florida, Anna hopes to swim with the dolphins too. She can’t wait to see the bright colors of the theme parks and meet her favorite characters! The whole family can’t wait for their magical vacation!
In the near future, our two families are planning on getting together for dinner and to learn a little more about Anna and her family. In addition, I'm looking forward to following Anna and her family on their extra magical vaction to the happiest place on earth, WALT DISNEY WORLD!
